Crystal Bay Township, in which Finland, MN is located, was organized in 1904, and named after Crystal Bay on Lake Superior. Crystal Bay encompasses over 200 square miles on the North Shore of Lake Superior, and is home to over 600 people.

Crystal Bay Township holds regular meetings on the third Tuesday of every month at 7pm at the Clair Nelson Intermodal Transportation Center, 6866 Cramer Road, Finland, MN, 55603.
